Local Maryland Instrument Makers and Repair

• James Cox. Fabrication and repair of stringed instruments. He has decades of experience building and adjusting viols. He has also built lutes. He has an absolutly stunning viol that is in progress and is not currently spoken for.
• Baltimore Brass Co. They have worked on my sackbut in the past. They sold me a serpent and mute cornetto. Last time I was in the shop they had three ophicleides!
• Cembaloworks of Washington. Fabrication and repair of early keyboard instruments. They have restrung my harpsichord in the past.
• Wolf Instruments. Fabrication and repair of keyboard instruments since 1969. They studied with Frank Hubbard in Boston and worked with William Dowd for many years.
